Source-available. Read it, run it, audit the whole thing yourself. No black box.
Self-host it, free
Free for internal-business forever, with unlimited users and all functionality. Non-commercial and personal use under the Sustainable Use License. Three memexes on the free hosted option.
No private fork
Generally free and extensible by anyone. Enterprise (.ee) features need a license, but there is never a private fork.
